Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Toronto or Montreal. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.The Client Servicing Associate will assist Client Servicing Senior Professionals in the administrative and client support activities for institutional clients. This role will deliver superior and meticulous client service and will work closely with the Client Servicing Senior Professionals to manage client accounts and problem-solve.
We will count on you to:
- Maintain expert knowledge on the specific characteristics and features of the various portfolios for which the Client Servicing Senior Professional is responsible, with a view to responding promptly and effectively to any client requests for quantitative and qualitative information (returns/products/strategies/transactions/administration), including LDI and alternative products strategies
- Participate in the onboarding process of new accounts by coordinating the implementation with relevant teams (operations, compliance, legal, portfolio managers, performance)
- Investigate and resolve issues, complaints, and requests from clients, custodians and/or consultants
- Facilitate modifications in investment policies (update asset mix letters, advise and follow-up with the Investment, implementation and operations teams)
- Support cash management activities (cash inflows/outflows) with appropriate internal departments
- Record and update client contacts and other related information in appropriate CRM system
- Review and make necessary adjustments to client quarterly reports to ensure reports are sent out in a timely manner once approval has been obtained by Client Servicing Senior Professional
- Ensure that all documents presented to clients (quarterly meetings or ad hoc requests) reflect information that is both complete and of the highest quality, and are produced within the required timelines
- Build presentations and prepare documents for quarterly client meetings as required
- Collaborate with other members of Client Servicing Team on common projects (special events, process enhancements, etc.) and provide back-up to other Client Service Associates when necessary
- Collaborate with legal team and provide assistance in drafting legal documents for client execution (ISA amendments, updated signing authority documents, etc.
- Work with Operations team and help coordinate annual client information projects (annual KYC update, W8-BEN-E renewal, HST information gathering, etc.)
- Additional ad-hoc projects and requests as required
What you need to have:
- University degree
- 5+ years' experience in a related investment management/financial services role with knowledge of trade lifecycle, securities, and associated attributes
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and thrives in a team environment, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication
- Sound operational and compliance judgment
- Excellent awareness of risk environment
- Able to multitask and prioritize; experience managing expectations and delivery of services
- Experience with portfolio accounting and management systems
- Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as proficiency with web-based applications
What makes you stand out:
- Successful completion of the CFA Investment Foundations or Canadian Securities Course is desirable
- Bilingual in English and French
- Registration (Ontario and Quebec Securities Commissions) as an advising representative
